20. Goodbye:(

It is time to say "GOOD-BYE":( I will miss you Sonja. Eng-102 was completely different from other lessons. It gave me a chance to express myself, to ask, to learn, to improve and to blog. Also, it gave me a real teacher. The last day of ENG-102 was impressive. I ate American-cookies( which was maden by Sonja), I was given a big hug, I received a daisy which was full of lovely words and so on. Thank you for everything Sonja! It is a pleasure to meet you and it is so sad to say goodbye:(

19. Being a girl& Barbie& Beauty:)

My barbies were the best and most beautiful toys in my childhood:). They are beautiful right? For example, if someone tells you that "Ooow! You are looking like a Barbie"(means you are looking cute=))it would a compliment right?

Beauty, beauty, beauty...
Who can own BEAUTY?
Answer: White People

So, which colour is a Barbie?
Answer: Of course, white!

NO! These answers are not correct. Both whites and blacks can own beauty. Thus, Barbies can be both white or black:)

I have to admit that I have never owned a black barbie but I would like to have one. They are also beautiful:) Here, the important thing is blacks can also own beauty as much as whites own.

17. "Precious" & "The Bluest Eye"

*Precious dreams about being a movie star.
Pauline wants to look like a movie star.

*When Precious looks at the mirror, she sees herself with a white skin and blond hair.She wants to look like white girls.(search for "ideal beauty")
Pecola wants to have blue eyes.

*Precious' father rapes her.(twice)
Pecola's father rapes her.(twice)

*We can see walls of lovelessness between Precios and her mother.
We can see lack of love between Pecola and Pauline.

*Precious does not know what a family means
Pecola also doesn't know what a family is.

Also I have to mention that, I don't why but I think Precious' story was much more sad:((
Also, if she was not black. She is fat and it may cause a big problem for a teenager. They make fun of her.

16. She is a "precious" girl:(

First of all, I have to admit that I cried while I was watching the film:( It was so sad.

(-)It's sad, it's so sad. It's a sad, sad situation...

Precious is a black girl. (This may be one reason which makes her unhappy)
Her father rapes her twice.
She is 17 years old but she two babies from his "own father"-(Also, her daughter is mentally retarted.)
She has problems with her mother.(They fight with each other) Her mother behaves badly towards her because she thinks Precious got his "man":( (but infact she loves Precious)
She has had no boy friends.
She is fat.
She feels ugly.
She gets the kick from her school.
Her mother gets sick:(

(+) What may be the good things in her life? (Unfortunately, there are a few things which can make her happy:()
She meets with Mrs. Rain (her teacher).(She shares her problems with her teacher and Mrs. Rain tries to help her)
"Each one teach one" (education)-(By this way, she learns how to communicate with people, she meets with new people(her classmates) and she gains friends).

15. Family Tree of Breedloves:)

In this picture, we can see the family members of Breedloves. Their surname is ironic. Because as you all know they do not breed love. Unfortunately, they have an unhappy family picture. We can see lack of love, incest, domestic violence in their family. Pecola has many missing parts in her family life. That can be a reason for her desire of blue eyes. She searches for love and tries to take attention of her family by owning blue eyes. Today, I talked about family identities in "The Bluest Eye" in my presentation. Unfortunately, Breedloves could not succeed to be a real family:(.

14. Love love love

What do you think about love??
I think love contains respect, affection, apprehension to loose, sacrifice. The lover afraids to offend his/her love and even afraids to touch.(Of course, this is not enough to define love but I tried to show some aspects of love to understand Cholly's "love"!)

At the end of the story, Claudia mentions that "Cholly loved Pecola". "He loved enough to touch her, envelop her give something of himself to her". What kind of love is this? His father takes Pecola's virginity. Claudia tries to give the message that love is sometimes a damaging force. But, I can not accept this as a love:(. What a pity that Pecola goes mad before learning what is love meant:(. Infact, Claudia is right in a way: She says that lover is sometimes selfish. I agree with this. Lover sometimes make mistakes while expressing his love:(. He can try to posses more and more. But anyway, Cholly I can not entitle you. I know you had some difficulties in your life:( But imagine such a love: You play with your dear daughter Pecola, she laughs and you also laugh. You are hand by hand with her. When the sky gets dark Pecola afraids and hugs her Cholly. She forgets about her fears and smiles. She touchs you, she loves you, she hugs you, she feels your love deeply. Now Cholly:( Which one is better to touch but harm her or to be a real lover and live the LOVE!
